Percentage Giving
"What percentage of my income is God calling me to give?" This is a new way of thinking about stewardship for us and is a very personal question. Each person's response may be different. Contemplate what God has provided for you through Tabernacle Church. Think about what Tabernacle does for others in the community. Prayerfully consider the answer to this question. As I said in my sermon, when I considered the idea of percentage giving, what I thought I was giving, I was not! I have found that I can share more of myself, my time, and my financial gifts to the church.
I just give a flat amount. I worked out a "percentage" and realized that I couldn't give that amount and also contribute to my many other (non-Tabernacle) charities and also retire... ever.
